Whilst GDPR may fill most business owners with dread, and SSL had most technophiles recoiling in terror.
And, of course, lest we forget Gutenberg which was the watch word at tech conferences up and down the country this year, threatening to bring down every website on its release. It would seem as if the online space should be trembling in fear. However, at DashAgency– we see opportunity. In fact, for those marketing companies with a clear strategy in place, these changes could prove to be a fantastic opportunity to earn some extra cash in a rather simple and straightforward way.
Let’s take the most reported example first
GDPR
Now, GPDR seemed to cause a huge amount of concern and a flurry of opt-out emails from every Tom, Dick and Harry. Some of these were perhaps a little overly cautious, but that being said, there are certain requirements that a company needs to fulfil in order to be GDPR compliant. And many of these are website related, particularly in regards to data encryption and the storing of data. Alongside this, every business also needs a policy on what third party data processors they use on their website, as well as a cookie policy. It is important to inform all your clients of these changes, but also make it easy for them to book in the changes. Which is where a system such as Dash comes in so helpful. Allowing your WordPress clients to book changes, and even pay upfront, with just one click of a button.
SSL
A few months ago Google changed its policy towards SSL Instead of punishing those who had the green tick, it started to punish those who weren’t considered fully in the form of lower Google rankings alongside a serious pop-up that stated unequivocally the site wasn’t secure. More recently, this has been compounded with the legislation from GDPR that makes it all but illegal to not have an SSL certificate. Again, this is a spectacularly easy service for a web designer to host, and one that could have a real impact on your client’s digital marketing strategy. An easy one to add to your Dash dashboard.
Gutenberg
Last, but by no means least, is Gutenberg which is sent to completely alter the user experience in uploading content onto a website. However, whilst the internet is rife with panic about this update, by educating yourself and your team, you can transform this into a value-added proposition to your clients. A fantastic service that you can offer to them in the form of training, or perhaps a webinar; it represents a brilliant opportunity to get back in touch with existing clients and remain well ahead of the curve. We would recommend adding a large call to action at the top of your Dash dashboard and wait for the requests to flow in.
